BIO

Allie (she/her) is a Brooklyn based director of new and contemporary plays that center women and engage with questions of gender, power, and queerness. She has an MFA in Directing from UC San Diego. Favorite projects in graduate school include a gender-bending whirlwind production of Sarah Ruhl's Orlando, a queer Romeo and Juliet, Beth Hyland's new bubblegum-pop comedy Cancelina, and punk-infused production of Caryl Churchill's Vinegar Tom. Allie has also directed at Custom Made Theatre Co., Cutting Ball Theater, San Francisco Playhouse, and in American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory and MFA programs. Her work has been nominated for San Francisco BroadwayWorld's Best Direction of a Play. She was previously the literary manager and casting associate at American Conservatory Theater, where she worked on new play development and cast A.C.T.'s mainstage programming. As an educator, Allie has taught at UCSD's undergraduate theater program as well as A.C.T.'s MFA, San Francisco Semester, and Young Conservatory programs. Allie is an Associate Member of SDC.
